The animal world is so vast that nobody can claim that he knows all the animals of the universe, because the different kinds of animals are numerous, each one has his own life style and also the mode of behaviour. Animal behavior is the scientific study of everything animals do, whether the animals are single-celled organisms, invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, or mammals. It involves investigating the relationship of animals to their physical environment as well as to other organisms, and includes such topics as how animals find and defend resources, avoid predators, choose mates and reproduce, and care for their young. Many features of animal behaviour are so well suited to their function that it is impossible to imagine that they arose by chance. Echolocation by bats, the nest-building skills of weaver birds, and the alarm signals of ground squirrels all serve obvious purposes, and the mechanisms that enable them are remarkably similar to what engineers would design to achieve those ends. However, such adaptive behaviours have no divine designer but instead have arisen through the process of natural selection. Dr. Poonam Lodhi did her graduation (CBZ) and Post graduation (Zoology) from I.P. College, Bulandshahr (U.P.). She has completed her Ph.D (Zoology) from C.C.S. University, Meerut. She has six years Research Experience in field of Toxicology on animal model (In vivo). She has one international, two national publications and a no. of research papers are communicated in different good quality journals. She attended many seminars, conferences and workshops. She has 5 years teaching experience at P.G. level. She is lifetime member of Lifetime Membership Society and Research Development-Scientific and Applied Research Center Meerut, (U.P.).
